One of the biggest stars in college basketball is demonstrating her significant pull yet again, with the Iowa‘s women’s basketball program announcing it has sold out its season tickets to fans who were itching to get a chance to watch star Caitlin Clark in her senior season.

That’s 15,000 tickets sold to fill up Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Demand for the tickets had been through the roof since the 2022-23 posteason ended, with Clark taking the Hawkeyes to the brink of a national championship. Iowa fell short in the title game against LSU, and some of what happened in the aftermath led to increased interest in the sport.

LSU star Angel Reese used a signature “you can’t see me” hand wave gesture from Clark and turned it back on the Iowa star in the waning minutes of the title game, also pointing to her ring finger repeatedly, with the Tigers comfortably ahead.

Pundits, fans and even athletes across the sport chimed in on the ordeal.

Was Reese showing up Clark? Was it poor sportsmanship? Did Caitlin Clark even care?

The answer to at least the last question was no, with Clark coming out in the aftermath and saying she was unbothered by the display from Reese.

“I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all,” Caitlin Clark said. “No matter which way it goes, she should never be criticized for what she did. I’m just one that competes and she competed. I think everybody knew there was going to be a little trash talking the entire tournament. It’s not just me and Angel. So I don’t think she should be criticized, like I said. LSU deserves it. They played so well. Like I said, I’m a big fan of hers.”

Even that didn’t overshadow Caitlin Clark’s tremendous season.

She took home virtually every major award, winning the Naismith, Wooden and Associated Press Player of the Year honors. She was named the Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year. She was a unanimous first-team All-American by the AP and the USBWA.

We could go on and on, but you get the point… Caitlin Clark is pretty danged good and people can’t wait to watch her.

During the 2022-23 season she averaged 27.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She also dished out 8.6 assists per game and recorded 1.5 steals per contest.
