Iowa offers 2024 On3 3-star S Xavier Lucas

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard three-star safety Xavier Lucas received an offer from Iowa on Thursday night. He announced the news over social media.

Lucas is not rated in the 2024 On3 Consensus. Even though he is not ranked in the 2024 On300, Lucas is a three-star recruit, the No. 66 safety and No. 101 player in Florida, per On3.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound defensive back has received four offers. The list includes Arkansas State, Auburn, Iowa and Michigan.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Tigers have a commanding lead for his commitment at 92.6%. Additionally, Lucas took an unofficial visit to Auburn on July 30.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

The Hawkeyes currently have five commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. The list includes Winthrop (Iowa) East Buchanan four-star interior offensive lineman Cody Fox, Winfield (Iowa) Winfield-Mt. Union Junior-Senior three-star linebacker Cam Buffington and Williamsburg (Iowa) three-star linebacker Derek Weisskopf.

Lucas has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
