Deerfield Beach (Fla.) three-star running back Jaziun Patterson picked up the Iowa hat on Tuesday night, pledging his commitment to the Hawkeyes.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound running back earned 23 D-I offers leading up to his commitment to the Hawkeyes. Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Miami and more all threw their hats into the ring.

Patterson also visited South Carolina and Florida State this summer but the Hawkeyes won out. Iowa running backs coach Ladell Betts led Patterson’s brief recruitment.

The Hawkeyes closed the deal rather quickly, offering in mid-July and grabbing the commitment Aug. 17 after a visit.

Patterson is commitment No. 9 in Iowa’s 2022 recruiting class, which is currently trailing in the Big 10 rankings. He’ll team up with Jones (Okla.) 3-star quarterback Carson May who committed to Iowa in late June.
