Iowa offers On300 CB Josh Philostin

Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman four-star cornerback Josh Philostin received an offer from Iowa Thursday. He announced the news on Twitter.

Philostin is the No. 255 overall prospect and No. 24 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 39 player in Florida.

On3 rates Philostin higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. He is the No. 174 overall prospect, the No. 14 cornerback and No. 20 player in Florida in the 2024 On300.

The 5-foot-10.5, 160-pounder holds 14 Power Five offers and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Ole Miss with a narrow lead over multiple schools to land a commitment from Philostin.

Philostin picked up several offers in January but one of the biggest that stood out to him was the one he received from Miami on Jan. 12. He also visited the Hurricanes the weekend of Jan. 21 as one of the few visits he took during the month.

“It was just a blessing (to receive the offer),” Philostin told On3 before the visit. “I was just very excited. Being from South Florida, it was a wonderful feeling.”
