The Iowa Hawkeyes are riding a wave of recruiting momentum after this past weekend’s 23-20 comeback victory over No. 4 Penn State. So, it only makes sense for the Hawkeyes to use that energy to extend offers to fast-rising prospects in the senior class. And there might not be a prospect more on the up than Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North consensus three-star offensive lineman Armand Membou.

Membou, who is 6-foot-5 and 306-pounds, is having a great senior season. He is a big part of one of the top teams in the Show=Me State. Membou is a longtime Missouri commitment and an important piece of the Tigers’ in-state recruiting push. He’s

However, Membou admitted a new offer from Iowa on Monday is going to give him something to consider.

“I am still committed to Mizzou,” said Membou, who pledged to the Tigers in early March. “But I am definitely considering Iowa. I don’t know about other schools, though. I only talk to Iowa.”

Armand Membou was joined by teammates Cayden Green, Dewuan Mack, Isaiah Mozee, Jamir Conin, and Williams Nwaneri on a visit to Iowa City for the Penn State game this past weekend.

Nwaneri, a rising 2024 defensive end, was offered by the Hawkeyes while on the visit. Iowa has also offered Mozee, a freshman running back/athlete. He spoke highly of the visit. Green, one of the top juniors in the country, said he was blown away by the visit. So was Membou.

“It was really crazy to witness and be a part of,” Membou said. “Just the atmosphere during the game, it was crazy.”

Armand Membou visited Mizzou twice this fall

Armand Membou said he won’t be able to make it to Columbia this weekend for Mizzou’s game against No. 21 Texas A&M. But he has visited campus twice this season for games. He said he’s still high on what coach Eli Drinkwitz is building with the Tigers.

The Tigers have 14 commits so far for the 2022 class. Six of the commitments are from in-state players like Membou. Membou was also one of Mizzou’s early commitments. Despite having offers from more than a dozen other schools, he’s remained on board with the Tigers.

But that sounds like that pledge will be tested now that Iowa has come knocking on Membou’s door.
