Robert Morris' Alvaro Folgueiras commits to Iowa

Iowa has been as active as any team so far in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Now, the Hawkeyes have added yet another transfer for next season’s roster.
Robert Morris forward Alvaro Folgueiras has committed to transfer to Iowa, per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. Folgueiras spent the past two seasons with the Colonials.
In 67 games through his underclassman years in Moon Township, Folgueiras averaged 9.9 points (51.9-percent shooting, 36.3-percent from 3-point range), 6.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. That included a jump in his sophomore season this past year to 14.1 points (54.8-percent shooting, 41.3-percent from 3), 9.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
That won him Horizon League Player of the Year and helped Robert Morris to win both league titles in the regular season and conference tournament. That then took the Colonials into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade and, in a first-round matchup with No. 2 Alabama, Folgueiras had 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal in a potential upset of the Crimson Tide.
