Spencer Lee wins third Big Ten title, sets up for history at NCAAs
Iowa 125 pound star Spencer Lee won his third Big Ten title with a 8-2 win over Nebraska’s Liam Cronin.
Lee remained undefeated on the season and all but wrapped up a No. 1 seed at NCAAs in Tulsa in two weeks. The Hawkeye will attempt to win his fourth national title but first took care of business in Ann Arbor.
Lee was in control against Cronin from the get-go. He took a 5-1 lead into the third period and didn’t allow Cronin to score a takedown.
While Le did not go four-for-four in Big Ten titles, he can join rarified air with his fourth national title in two weeks. Only Cael Sanderson, Pat Smith, Logan Stieber and Kyle Dake won four national titles in their collegiate careers.
