Tom Brady headlines celebratory video for Caitlin Clark after setting NCAA scoring record

While Caitlin Clark has certainly carved out her own spot as one of the greatest athletes in college basketball history, she’s not above a star-studded congratulations for setting the NCAA women’s basketball scoring mark. And the Big Ten Conference delivered a video congratulations with no shortage of star power.
From former Iowa teammates and women’s basketball stars of generations past to some truly iconic folks from various walks of life, it was a pretty comprehensive collection of greatness. And that included one Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion who played college football in the Big Ten at Michigan.
“I just wanted to say congratulations on the record,” Brady said. “Like the rest of the country, I’ve been following along while you chase down my girl Kelsey, but I know she’s proud of you, too. We love witnessing greatness here. Keep your head down, go finish the job and I’ll be watching. Good luck.”
Clark passed former Washington and current Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum for the all-time scoring mark in women’s college hoops on Thursday night.
Along with Brady were two other famous quarterbacks: Peyton and Eli Manning, who both delivered congratulations in their humorous, personable style.

“Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment,” Eli Manning said. “It’s been so impressive to watch you perform throughout your career. Although, if I’m being honest, your accuracy from long range has made a lot of other quarterbacks look pretty bad. Just letting you know that. Anyways, congratulations again. I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
Eli was immediately followed by his older brother.
“Just want to say congratulations on breaking the all-time scoring record,” Peyton Manning said. “Look, when I played, I hated settling for three points, but you’ve actually turned me into a huge fan of the 3. Not an easy task. And I know you’ve inspired millions of other people along the way.”
And the star power wasn’t limited to world-famous athletes, either. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, two stars of movie and television, joined the chorus of congratulations, as did morning TV host Gayle King, Fox Sports play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson (along with Purdue center Zach Edey) and the mascot of the Chicago Cubs, Clark the Cub. Even Iowa punter Tory Taylor made the cut.
There was no shortage of basketball players, both close to Iowa and afar, in the video congratulating Clark, too. Some of Clark’s former teammates featured, as did recent Iowa men’s basketball star Luka Garza. Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard, another merchant of deep 3s like Clark, offered some words of encouragement. And there was no shortage of famous figures in women’s basketball throughout the video, from current broadcaster Lisa Byington to icons and current stars of the women’s game, like Brittney Griner or Jackie Stiles, who clark recently passed on the all-time scoring list.
