Jeremy Hecklinski

Wake Forest transfer QB Jeremy Hecklinski has committed to Iowa out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Hecklinski did not record any stats for the Demon Deacons during his true freshman season. He will be a redshirt freshman during his first season at Iowa in 2025.

Before college, he was the 2023 MaxPreps Georgia Player of the Year, a MaxPreps National POTY Finalist, and an Adidas All-American. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services, he was a three-star recruit.

Hecklinski was the No. 626 overall recruit in the 2024 recruiting class. He was also the 42nd-ranked quarterback that cycle.

He’s joining an Iowa team that’s coming off an eight-win season and a trip to the Music City Bowl. In 2023, the Hawkeyes won 10 games and made it to the Citrus Bowl. They repeated this bowl pattern in 2022 and 2021, as well. It will be year 26 for the Iowa program under head coach Kirk Ferentz, who took over as the head of the Hawkeyes’ football team in 1999.
