During the last Women’s NCAA Tournament, Iowa star Caitlin Clark was one of several players that made a name for themselves. She still has time at Iowa before she moves on to the WNBA, meaning that there will likely be more eyes on the college game next season.

However, at least one WNBA executive doesn’t want her to even stay in college.

“Some of the games that Clark’s had this year indicate to us that she’s one of the best guards we’ve ever seen,” an anonymous executive told The Athletic.

“I do know what I’d like to see from Caitlin: I’d like to see her come out next year. I don’t want her to stay in college another year. I want her to say, ‘Hey, I’m tired of college. I’m going to go to the pros.”

In other words, Caitlin Clark doesn’t need any more time to develop. She’s ready for the WNBA now and teams want to be able to bring her in.

Another WNBA executive shared that they don’t think that Clark even has much that she needs to improve in her game.

“Nothing, honestly,” they said. “She’s been doing this since her freshman year. If anything, it’s nice to see that the turnovers continue to pare down a little bit, which has been happening. So, obviously, there has been an awareness to that. And she’s got to guard people, you know. That’s gonna be something that follows her to the next level.”

Last season, Caitlin Clark averaged 27.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.6 assists per game. She’s also considered the top prospect for next year’s WNBA Draft.

Caitlin Clark defended Angel Reese

Unfortunately, the national championship that LSU won was overshadowed by the reaction to Angel Reese seemingly taunting Caitlin Clark. That included pointing at her ring finger at the end of the game.

However, Caitlin Clark responded to the criticism of Angel Reese by defending the LSU star.

“I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all. No matter which way it goes, she should never be criticized for what she did. I’m just one that competes and she competed. I think everybody knew there was going to be a little trash talking the entire tournament. It’s not just me and Angel. So I don’t think she should be criticized, like I said. LSU deserves it. They played so well. Like I said, I’m a big fan of hers,” Clark said.

“I think the biggest thing is we’re all competitive, we all show our emotions in a different way. Angel’s a tremendous, tremendous player. I have nothing but respect for her. I love her game. The way she rebounds the ball, scores the ball is absolutely incredible. I’m a big fan of her. And even the entire LSU team, like I said, they played an amazing game. I don’t think there should be any criticism for what she did. I honestly didn’t see it when the game was going on and like I said, I haven’t been on social media really at all.”
