Athlete Jontez Williams commits to Iowa State on Christmas Day

Starke (Fla.) Bradford wide receiver Jontez Williams gave Iowa State an early Christmas present by committing to the Cyclones Saturday morning.
“Committed. Ready to work,” Williams wrote on Twitter with a commitment graphic. The Cyclones were one of two offers for the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder, who picked ISU over Tennessee Tech.

As a senior for Bradford this season, Williams had 34 receptions for 653 yards and four touchdowns, as well as three interceptions on defense. In his high school career, amassed north of 1,000 yards receiving and nine scores with six interceptions and a punt return for a touchdown.
Jontez Williams is the 22nd member of the Cyclones’ 2022 class, which currently ranks No. 33 nationally and No. 5 in the Big 12, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
