Olathe (Kan.) South EDGE Jordan Allen added his name to the list of players that have been offered scholarships in the Sunflower State.

Allen, who is 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, announced he had landed a scholarship offer from Iowa State. The offer was made by Cyclones assistant Nathan Scheelhaase. Scheelhaase is a Kansas City native and a former four-star quarterback recruit at Rockhurst High School.

The Cyclones have been closely monitoring Allen’s progress during the offseason and went all-in with the offer on Thursday. Allen has already been on campus in Ames. He was there for a game in late October.

With the offer, the Cyclones quickly move into the driver’s seat of Allen’s recruitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

The Cyclones now have a 34.9% chance of landing Jordan Allen. That should come as no surprise. Iowa State is heavily involved annually with the top players in the Kansas City metro area.

Iowa State isn’t the only school involved, though.

Allen is also getting interest from Nebraska, Kansas State, Missouri and Kansas. He made fall game visits to K-State and Nebraska.

Shortly after he landed the Iowa State offer, Allen said South Dakota and assistant coach Abdul Hodge also offered him.

Along with his play on the field, Jordan Allen opened up eyes for his performance in the weight room. He trains with Joseph Potts at Top Speed and has been clocked as fast as 20.45 mph in testing.

That’s trucking for a 6-4, 240-pounder.

As a junior, Jordan Allen had 15 tackles for a loss and four sacks. He also racked up 56 total tackles for the Falcons.
