WATCH: Domonique Orange tosses aside Ohio State hat to reveal Iowa State pledge
Three-star North Kansas City, Mo., defensive lineman Domonique Orange has a flair for the dramatic on the field and off of it. So, when it came time to announce his commitment on Tuesday, he stayed true to form.
As Domonique Orange began to reveal where he was going, he picked up an Ohio State hat. He then quickly tossed the Buckeyes’ hat over his shoulder and picked up an Iowa State hat.
The moment was initially greeted with some gasps from friends, family and classmates watching at North Kansas City. But it was then quickly replaced with a lot of cheers for Domonique Orange’s decision to pick the Cyclones.
Domonique Orange was heavily recruited early in the process by programs all over the country. He did say his final schools were Texas A&M, Oregon, Ohio State and Iowa State. But it should be pointed out that Ohio State and several other finalists were not actively recruiting him down the stretch.
