Deion Sanders has a ‘feeling’ more big-name commits are coming

Deion Sanders is pretty adamant that Jackson State is not done rising up the recruiting rankings.

After tweeting on Jan. 20 that more recruiting surprises are in store, the Hall of Famer doubled down on his take on Monday.

“Signing day is approaching and I’ve got a feeling there’s 1 or 2 more game changers that want to be a @GoJSUTigersFB. ‘I AIN’T HARD TO FIND,’” Sanders tweeted.

Deion Sanders has already made the two biggest splashes of recruiting cycle by landing Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill Five-Star Plus+ athlete Travis Hunter and St. Louis (Mo.) St. Mary’s four-star wide receiver Kevin Coleman.

Hunter is the No. 1 overall recruit in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

His flip from Florida State during the early signing period will go down as one of — if not, the — most shocking flip in National Signing Day history.

Coleman — the No. 71 overall prospect and No. 8 wide receiver in the On3 Consensus — committed to the Tigers during the All-American Bowl on NBC. The decision was once again a shocker, as the Tigers were not connected to him leading up to the announcement.

Who is Deion Sanders referring to?

As for who the two Deion Sanders referred to in his tweets, that remains a mystery.

However, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons said Jackson State might be a factor with five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart.

“I’m definitely not 100% ruling out Jackson State,” Simmons said. “I do know there’s smoke out there about certain guys. And Shemar Stewart is a guy I’ve heard as potentially in that group that Deion (Sanders) is recruiting.”

Sanders did offer one of the top unsigned prospects — Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington four-star cornerback and Oklahoma commit Gentry Williams — a few weeks back. However, Williams recently affirmed his commitment to the Sooners and is expected to sign with OU on Wednesday.

The Tigers aren’t just succeeding on the recruiting trail, either. They are also doing really well in the transfer portal.

Jackson State has signed 11 transfers this offseason, including three former four-star high school recruits in wide receiver Mark Pope from Miami, linebacker Antonio Doyle from Texas A&M and wide receiver Keveon Mullins from South Carolina.
