3-star CB Aundre Gibson commits to Kansas
Goodyear (Ariz.) Desert Edge three-star cornerback Aundre Gibson has announced his commitment to Kansas. He chose the Jayhawks over Oregon, Oregon State and Washington.
Gibson is the No. 598 overall prospect and No. 54 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 12 player in Arizona.
“Kansas is a great program,” Gibson told On3 on Feb. 27. “I’m really loving Kansas right now.”
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back made a visit to Lawrence this past week. His main contact with the program is defensive backs coach Jordan Peterson.
“He has all the energy,” Gibson said. “He reminds me of being here at Desert Edge, the coaches. He gives me the same perspective as my DB coach, the same energy, the same love for the game, the same passion. That really stood out to me.”

Kansas now has three players in its 2024 recruiting class. They are Gibson, Southfield (Mich.) three-star quarterback Isaiah Marshall and Beggs (Okla.) three-star running back Red Martel.
Gibson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $15.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
