On3 4-star OT Calvin Clements commits to Kansas

Lawrence (Kan.) Lawrence Free State four-star offensive tackle Calvin Clements has committed to Kansas. His decision comes one day after backing off his pledge to Baylor.

Clements is the No. 671 overall prospect and No. 42 offensive tackle in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also a three-star recruit and the No. 7 player in Kansas.

On3 rates Clements higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Clements is a four-star recruit, the No. 24 offensive tackle and No. 5 player in Kansas.

The Jayhawks’ 2023 recruiting class contains 13 commits. Additionally, Clements is the highest-ranked recruit in the group, which now ranks No. 63 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the Big 12.

In addition to Clements, three other Jayhawks pledges are ranked in the top-1,000 of the On3 Consensus. They are Chula Vista (Calif.) Mater Dei Catholic three-star athlete Surahz Buncom, Detroit Martin Luther King three-star safety Jameel Croft and Cypress (Texas) Cy Ranch three-star wide receiver Jarred Sample.

Clements is a 6-foot-7, 260-pound prospect. He is currently the Jayhawks’ only high school offensive tackle commit.
