WATCH: Kansas coach Bill Self explains decision to not coach against Arkansas in NCAA Tournament
Kansas coach Bill Self will continue to cheer on his program from the hotel on Saturday as they prepare to play Arkansas in the tournament. Self has not coached recently on the sideline as he took time away from the stresses of coaching with a health issue.
As Self explained in his own words ahead of their second-round matchup with the Razorbacks, he’s feeling much better but plans to make his return to the sideline on gameday in the Sweet Sixteen if his squad can take care of business on Saturday. Self has helped coach the team in a practice and remains heavily involved in his team’s preparation, but he is not 100 percent ready to be in the gym just yet for the live games.

“Self on… pregame interview said he met as a group with doctors and ‘a lot of consultations and everything. We think it’s best we rejoin the team full speed going (into) next week so we obviously need to play pretty well today,'” explained The Kansas City Star‘s Gary Bedore.
“Self also said ‘I’m feeling tons better. I’ve got my energy back to an extent, sleeping better and doing things they said were important to be on the mend.'”
