There was controversy late in the KansasTexas Tech game on Saturday afternoon. With the Red Raiders up 76-73 with 22.1 seconds left, Texas Tech’s Elijah Hawkins caught the inbounds pass and slid out of bounds, but officials called a foul on Rylan Griffen of Kansas.

The call upset Jayhawks head coach Bill Self, who started yelling at the referees. During that sequence, a fan tossed a water bottle on the court.

When was the last time a full water bottle was tossed on the court?

It’s a pretty rare occasion, a fan noted on Twitter.

Texas Tech came away with the 78-73 win, even if it was in controversial fashion.
