Jalon Daniels on future at Kansas: 'I'm not going anywhere'
After another season marred by injuries for Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels, he addressed his future with the program.
The fourth-year veteran still has at least one more year of eligibility remaining next season if he wants it and could even transfer without any concerns of sitting out since he’s spent his entire collegiate career to date in Lawrence. But he won’t choose to do that, as Daniels has already announced his intentions to return to Kansas next season.
“I’m not done yet and I’m not going anywhere,” the Jayhawk QB said in this video he posted to Twitter:
Here was the full statement from Daniels in this video.
“I’mma be blunt, this season didn’t go as planned. But life comes at you fast, and sometimes, your story is out of your control. But I guess that means I have unfinished business. My dreams haven’t changed, my goals are still there and my vision for my future is clear. So you want something to talk about? Talk about this: I’m not done yet and I’m not going anywhere.”
That wasn’t all the content we got from Daniels after announcing his decision. The Kansas football team Twitter account also posted a message from their quarterback on his pledge to return next fall. Take a look at that here:

As for Daniels’ year on the field, well, there hasn’t been a ton of snaps for him due to injury unfortunately. He’s dealt with a hurt back for much of the season, appearing in just three total games a year after he only played in nine of 13 contests also due to injuries.
He just can’y catch a break lately. But hopefully fifth year brings a better run of health for the dual-threat signal caller. In his absence, the Jayhawks were lucky to find the emerging Jason Bean. He was the next man up when Daniels went down last season as well and was more than solid in reserve, which has continued this season.
However, he suffered what was considered a head injury in last week’s loss to Texas Tech, throwing just four passes in the game before being taken out while third-stringer Cole Ballard popped in. Bean has practiced some this week and is hopeful to make a return to the field in Week 12.
The Jayhawks host rival Kansas State this weekend before finishing the year up with a trip to new Big 12 member Cincinnati.
