Mitch Lightfoot is giving Kansas fans the opportunity to own a piece of history. The former Jayhawks center tweeted Wednesday that he is selling his home white jersey from this past season, during which the team claimed its fourth national championship.

Lightfoot did not specify a price for the jersey, but wrote in a reply that he will be accepting offers through his DMs.

Lightfoot spent the past six seasons in Lawrence, playing mostly a reserve role. 2021-22 was his best year yet, as he set a career high in scoring with 4.6 points in addition to 2.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks across 12.2 minutes.

The Jayhawks earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament this past season after also claiming the Big 12 Tournament title. They went on to reel off several victories before finally facing North Carolina in the championship game and claiming a 72-69 victory. Lightfoot played just seven minutes in that game, making his only field goal attempt to finish with two points and one rebound.

Although Mitch Lightfoot was never the star of the team, the longevity of his career allows him to hold a special place in Kansas history. He played in 168 games throughout his career, the most of any player in Jayhawks history, and also ends ranked ninth in blocked shots with 156. If you include his redshirt season in 2019-20, he was a part of 171 KU victories throughout his career, another program record.

Now that his college career is over, it remains to be seen what is next for Lightfoot. But whatever happens, it’s clear that Jayhawks fans will always remember him for his dedication and hard work to the program over the years. It was fitting to see his final season end with a championship, and now one lucky fan will get the chance to own a special piece of memorabilia worn by a Kansas great.
