Kansas City area EDGE Jordan Allen adds another in-state offer

Any doubt about Jordan Allen’s recruiting stock can be officially erased.
After landing offers from Iowa State, New Mexico State and South Dakota last week and then a new offer from Kansas State on Monday, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound EDGE from Olathe (Kan.) South announced he landed another in-state offer on Wednesday.
Allen said he had picked up an offer from the Kansas Jayhawks. The offer was made KU assistants Andy Kotelnicki, Greg Svarczkopf and Rob Ianello. The offer was anticipated largely because the Jayhawks have been closely monitoring Allen’s progress throughout the offseason.
Jordan Allen is also getting interest from Nebraska, Missouri and others. He made fall game visits to K-State, Iowa State and Nebraska. He said he is scheduled to visit K-State again on March 5 for the Wildcats’ junior day. He’ll also make a return visit to Ames in April, but no date has been set up at this point.
After Iowa State offered last week, the Cyclones were in the lead to land Allen, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. However, the offers from KU and K-State boost the in-state school’s chances. The Wildcats and the Cyclones both now have a 33.3% chance of landing Jordan Allen, according to the On3 RPM. KU is listed at 1.5% at this point.

The Iowa State offer last week came from Cyclones assistant Nathan Scheelhaase. Scheelhaase is a Kansas City native and a former four-star quarterback recruit at Rockhurst High School. He is being recruited at K-State by recruiting coordinator Taylor Braet and assistants Hank Jacobs and Buddy Wyatt.
Along with his play on the field, Jordan Allen opened up eyes with his performance in the weight room. He trains with Joseph Potts at Top Speed and has been clocked as fast as 20.45 mph in testing.
That’s trucking for a 6-4, 240-pounder.
As a junior, Jordan Allen had 15 tackles for a loss and four sacks. He also racked up 56 total tackles for the Falcons.
