WATCH: Kansas drops hype video ahead of matchup with Duke Blue Devils
Don’t look now ladies and gents but the Kansas Jayhawks football team is 3-0 for the first time since 2009. This weekend’s matchup against the Duke Blue Devils (3-0) is officially a sell out and the Jayhawks dropped a hype video on Friday night to get everybody pumped up. Not that they needed any extra motivation.
Check out the highlights of the 2022 season, with a song by the hit group, Journey, in the background.
Clearly, Jayhawk fans are pumped up for Saturday’s game and they should be. The last time Kansas was 3-0 in football, a Jayhawk legend by the name of Todd Reesing roamed the grounds in Lawrence.
Kansas head coach Lance Leipold has been a popular name amongst head coaching searches across the college football landscape recently and rightfully so. The former head coach at Division III powerhouse Wisconsin Whitewater, Leipold captured six national championships there in eight years. From 2007-2014, he compiled a mind-boggling record of 109-6.

Kansas QB Jalon Daniels is an electrifying playmaker
The straw that stirs the drink for Kansas is without a doubt, their dynamic dual-threat quarterback Jalon Daniels. He’s already racked up 237 rushing yards on the ground and 566 passing yards through the air. He currently ranks fourth amongst all college football quarterbacks in rushing yards.
Head coach Lance Leipold recently spoke with Fox’s Joel Klatt about his dynamic dual threat.
“He’s fun to watch, isn’t he? The thing about him is that he’s got energy, he’s got the charisma,” Leipold said. “You can coach him hard. He’ll let things slide after a mistake or a turnover. But he’s really taking ahold of what we’re doing offensively. We’re trying to be as multiple as possible with personnel groupings, different things in the running attack. That’s really helped open up our passing game to keep us in a balanced type format.”
Kansas has three more players with over 100 rushing yards: Devin Neal (204 yards), Daniel Hishaw (174 yards), and Sevion Morrison (107 yards).
Kansas and Duke will kick off on Saturday at noon. The game will be televised on FS1.
