It simply hasn’t been this good to be a Kansas football fan in quite some time. The Jayhawks return the services of one of the most electrifying quarterbacks in all of college football in Jalon Daniels.

They started last season with an impressive 5-0 record, helping punch their ticket to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl vs. the Arkansas Razorbacks at the end of the season. The Jayhawks might have lost 55-53 in triple overtime, but it was still one of the best games of the bowl season.

KU football fans got something else to look forward to on Friday evening, as the Jayhawks unveiled some new uniforms for the 2023-2024 campaign.

Check them out below.

There aren’t too many changes with the uniforms. The Kansas font on the front of the uniforms is much, much bigger. Then they added some striping on the shoulders of the uniforms. They also moved the numbers from the sleeve to the shoulder pads.

These look pretty sharp. It’s hard to tell how excited Kansas fans will be about the huge font on the front, but it’s not big enough to ruin the uniforms. They still look pretty sharp and clean overall. And Jalon Daniels is so electrifying, he’ll look great in just about anything.

If you wanted to see a close-up of the uniforms here’s a good angle.

The video the school released revealed two different uniforms, all-blue and all-white. For fans that want to buy the new jerseys, those will be available online on Monday. There is still the additional possibility of different uniform combinations.

Kansas also wore combinations of red and different combos of that at times last year. They also donned a retro all-blue look for the Baylor game in 2023. So, the possibility of more uniforms might be on the way, but that has not been confirmed by the school at this point.

We’ll see.

Kansas football has many reasons to be excited for the upcoming season

On the field, the Jayhawks will look to make yet another statement during head coach Lance Leipold’s third season in Lawrence. He led the team to their best season in over a decade last year. Kansas hosted College GameDay after they got off to one of the best starts in school history (5-0). But their electrifying signal-caller, Jalon Daniels, suffered a shoulder injury and the Jayhawks lost six of their last seven games.

KU still earned a berth to the Liberty Bowl, their first bowl game appearance in over 10 years. And it ended up being one of the better games of the college football season.

Daniels has been named the Big 12 Preseason Offensive POY ahead of the 2023-2024 season and rightfully so. Even with his shoulder injury last year, he threw for 2,014 passing yards, tossing in 18 touchdowns while throwing just four interceptions.

As a runner, he had 77 carries for 419 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Simply put, he’s one of the most dynamic players in the country and he’s the straw that stirs the drink for the Jayhawks’ football program. They’ll only go as far as he takes them.
