Kansas elevates Jim Zebrowski to offensive coordinator
Kansas football has named Jim Zebrowski as its next offensive coordinator, the team revealed in a press release on Saturday.
Zebrowski served as the Jayhawks co-offensive coordinator during the 2024 season and was elevated to replace Jeff Grimes, who is expected to take the OC job at Wisconsin.
“I’m thankful to Coach Leipold and the University of Kansas for the opportunity to serve as offensive coordinator,” Zebrowski said, via release. “I’m so excited for this opportunity to continue to work with our staff in developing our student-athletes and moving the Kansas football program forward. Let’s go, Rock Chalk!”
Kansas head coach Lane Leipold released a joint statement alonside Zebrowski’s, touching on the duo’s history together and the trust he has for Zebrowski.
“Jim and I have worked together for more than 10 years and he has a great knowledge of the game and our offense,” Leipold said. “Jim has been instrumental in our success and will continue to push our program forward. He is a quality mentor to our student-athletes and takes pride in being a Jayhawk.”

The duo’s relationship dates back to 2007 when Zebrowski joined Leipold as an assistant coach at UW-Whitewater.
There, he served as Leipold’s OC and quarterbacks coach until 2009. There, the Warhawks compiled a 42-3 overall record and won the Division III national championship game twice. They met up once against, tailing Leipold to Buffalo from 2017-2020 before they moved on to KU.
Since joining the KU staff, he’s worked closely with the Jayhawks’ quarterback group and helped guide the Jayhawks’ offense to consecutive bowl games in 2022 and 2023 — something that had been done only one other time in program history.
Moving forward as the main offensive coordinator, Kansas will look to build on its consistency and find its way back to bowl contention in 2025. They finished the season 5-7 overall despite having three wins over ranked opponents, including Iowa State, BYU and Colorado in consecutive games in Novemeber.
