Kansas football fans can’t wait for the 2024 campaign and who can blame them? They’re loaded with highly explosive weapons on the offensive side of the ball like quarterback Jalon Daniels and running back Devin Neal. They’re two of the nation’s best at their positions. And then on defense, they return Cobee Bryant, one of the hardest hitting corners in all of college football.

On Thursday evening, KU football gave fans something else to get jazzed up about, new uniforms. They unveiled their all-red ‘Rock Chalk’ uniforms with those words on the sides of the shoulder pads.

They’ll wear the new uniforms in their Week 5 matchup against TCU.

Talent has never been a question for Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels. Staying healthy has been his problem the past few years. If he can stay on the field, he’s electrifying. And one of the nation’s most exciting dual-threat quarterbacks.

In 2022, he completed 65.7% of his passes for 1,470 yards, while tossing in 13 touchdowns with two interceptions. As a runner, he finished with 398 rushing yards and six touchdowns on just six carries. In 2023, Daniels completed 74.7% of his passes for 705 yards, while tossing in five touchdowns with one interception. As a runner, he had 74 rushing yards on 27 carries.

Kansas will need him to stay healthy this season. He dealt with back issues for much of the 2023 campaign. This year the Jayhawks won’t have backup quarterback Jason Bean as an insurance policy. He moved onto the National Football League, where he was signed as an undrafted free agent in the 2024 NFL Draft. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, Bean threw for over 1,200 passing yards in each of those seasons. He also ran for a combined total of 800 rushing yards those three years, too.

In the backfield, Daniels will be joined by Kansas running back Devin Neal, who has shredded opposing defenses to the tune of over 1,000 rushing yards in back-to-back seasons (2022 and 2023). Not only that, but he’s also hauled in over 160 yards receiving in each of those seasons, cementing his status as one of the nation’s best all-purpose backs.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Jayhawks return one of the nation’s most gifted and bone-rattling corners, Cobee Bryant. Last year, he racked up 32 tackles, four interceptions, and five pass deflections, firmly planting his place among the best corners in the Big 12 Conference. Not only is he great in coverage, but Bryant also delivered the boom in the BYU game, scooping the ball up, and returning it for a touchdown. It was one of the hardest hits of the 2023-2024 college football season. He’ll be a man that strikes fear in opposing offenses’ hearts all season long.

Kansas will kick off their 2024 campaign against Lindenwood on August 29th. That one is slotted for 8:00 PM EST and will be televised on ESPN+.
