Report: Kansas guard Kyle Cuffe suffered serious knee injury at practice, out 10-12 weeks
According to a report on Sunday from the Kansas City Star‘s Gary Bedore, Kansas Jayhawks guard Kyle Cuffe suffered a serious knee injury in practice on Saturday. The injury, described as an MCL and PCL tear, will reportedly not require surgery. Cuffe could return within 10-12 weeks, per the report.
The redshirt freshman has played in two games for the Jayhawks this season. He played four minutes in the 82-59 win over North Dakota State on Nov. 10 and two minutes versus Omaha. Cuffe hadn’t yet scored any points for Kansas this season prior to his injury.

Kyle Cuffe is a Harlem, New York native. He picked Kansas coming out of high school over a dozen other offers. The 6-foot-2 combo guard attended Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey.
A member of the 2021 signing class, Cuffe joined top-100 recruits KJ Adams, Zach Clemence and Bobby Pettiford.
With a rehab time estimated at 10-12 weeks, the young guard could still return to make an impact for Kansas this season. That timeline could have him back on the court by early February, in time for a late-season run and the postseason.
Cuffe was a redshirt last season as the Jayhawks made their trip to the NCAA tournament and won the national title.
