Kansas lands transfer commitment from Syracuse WR Bryce Cohoon
Kansas just made a pretty late transfer portal addition this weekend when former Syracuse wide receiver Bryce Cohoon announced his commitment to the Jayhawks.
Cohoon struggled to find the field for the Orange and oped to enter the portal after just one season with ‘Cuse. Now, he’ll head to Kansas for a fresh start with all four years of eligibility remaining.
Here was Cohoon’s announcement, which he posted to Twitter:
Before his one year runaway to Syracuse, Cohoon played football for local Maize County in Kansas, where he was rated a three-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also ranked the No. 1,450 overall prospect, the No. 228 wide receiver and the No. 12 player from Kansas for his cycle.

Cohoon isn’t the only transfer to commit to KU this month. Former Michigan State EDGE rusher Bai Jobe also committed to Kansas a few weeks back.
Jobe even spoke with On3’s Steve Wiltfong regarding the commitment to the Jayhawks. He was big on culture.
“Man I like the culture, the coaching staff was good, they were real with me and I really like their scheme,” Jobe said. “Coach Leipold, they know what they’re doing. And the honesty, they were real with me. The last three portal guys are in the NFL, Austin Booker getting drafted makes a big difference.”

Jobe appeared in just one game last season for the Spartans. He played in the 41-7 loss to Washington and registered one tackle.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Jobe was a four-star recruit out of Norman (Okla.) Community Christian School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the state, the No. 10 EDGE rusher in the class and the No. 69 overall prospect in the class.
Jobe moved to the United States in 2018 from Senegal and learned football on the internet.
“Even though I don’t know everything about football I know a lot because I started to go to YouTube and Google and stuff like that,” Jobe said.
His high school coach Mat McIntosh just let his former player fly, immediately putting him on college radars.
“We lined him up at defensive end and told him just chase the ball,” he said.
