Kansas QB Jalon Daniels shares key to success against Iowa State
The Kansas Jayhawks have been the surprise of the college football season so far. KU is undefeated at 4-0 with the No. 4 offense thus far at 48.5 points per game. After their best start to a season since 2009, they will now face off with Iowa State tomorrow.
Jayhawk quarterback Jalon Daniels joined SportsCenter to talk about his team’s start and their game this weekend against the Cyclones. He says the biggest thing during their real start to Big 12 play will be ensuring that they continue to dictate how they play.

“Just playing our game. We can’t switch up because of the team that we’re going against,” said Daniels. “We just have to keep going in with that confidence we’ve been going in with every single week. Don’t change how we play because of somebody else. At the end of the day, we want to be able to make teams react to us.”

Daniels has been a key part of Kansas’ hot start from the QB spot. He is their catalyst with over 1,200 total yards and 15 touchdowns overall. Daniels is the Jayhawk’s top passer as well as their top rusher, which makes him the fundamental piece of Lance Leipold’s team.
Offense is usually the name of the game in Big 12 play. That lends itself well to Kansas early this season, especially since the game is in Lawrence. However, the Cyclones boast a Top-20 defense that’s allowing just 14.5 points per game. One of those things will have to give in Memorial Stadium this weekend but, if Daniels and the offense have anything to say about it, the Jayhawks may end up making more history.
