The Kansas Jayhawks are the center of the college football world for Week 6. The College GameDay crew is in Lawrence as KU welcomes Big 12 foe TCU to town for an extremely rare ranked matchup between the two teams.

Early on Saturday, College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit went on SportsCenter live from the Kansas campus to discuss the game. Particularly, he was asked about star Jayhawk QB Jalon Daniels, who leads a very potent offensive attack for Kansas and is a primary reason for their hot start this season.

Herbstreit credits his talent to a versatile skillset. He’s a more-than-capable passer who also isn’t resigned to the pocket. His combination of a great arm and the ability to scamper with his legs makes him a tough player to stop. But even beyond his skills on the field, Herbstreit sees an excellent leader in Daniels, too, which is a crucial trait for the quarterback of the offense.

“Well, I think, first of all, beyond the ability physically to be able to run the ball and throw the ball, I think there’s an infectious personality that impacts his teammates,” Herbie said of the KU star. “They believe they can win because of him and his leadership and the way he demonstrates himself and carries himself. That’s probably the greatest compliment you can give any quarterback. And I think Jalon Daniels provides that.”

Kirk Herbstreit went on to note that Kansas is going to need all of Daniels’ talent on display this afternoon vs. the Horned Frogs. TCU is likewise a very good team and can put up points in bunches. Jalon Daniels will need to match them stride for stride, per Herbstreit.

“And I think, to me, this is going to be a great game for him. Because the guests that are coming in, TCU, they can score. They are second in the nation in scoring. So Daniels will have to be at his best. This crowd will have to be at its best if Kansas will continue this magical story. Because Sonny Dykes, the new coach at TCU, he’s got a team right now that’s scoring a lot of points.”

Should be a thrilling contest kicking off at 11 a.m. in David Booth Memorial today. All eyes on Jalon Daniels these two dangerous offenses.
