WATCH: Todd Reesing shares message with Kansas fans ahead of Iowa State game
The Kansas Jayhawks currently sit at 4-0 after defeating the Duke Blue Devils last weekend 35-27. The Jayhawk football program is 4-0 for the first time since quarterback Todd Reesing roamed the grounds of Lawrence, Kansas. He’s the school’s all-time leading passer and one of the greatest players in the history of the Kansas football program. He had a message for fans ahead of this weekend’s matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones.
Check it out.
You can listen to the audio below or read the transcription below.
“Jayhawk Nation. This is Todd Reesing here, with a real important message about the KU game vs. Iowa State this Saturday in Lawrence. It’s Homecoming baby! We need all you Jayhawk fans to come early. Pack the booth. And stay loud until the boys get the job done. And get that W in the win column. Coach Leipold and the Jayhawk football team are counting on you to be supportive, to show up, and make sure we have one heck of a gameday in Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday. I’ll see you all there! Rock Chalk, Baby!”
Reesing set records at Kansas that will likely never get touched. During his prolific career there, he completed 63.8 percent of his passes for 11,194 yards, while tossing in 90 touchdown passes and 33 interceptions. In the 2007-2008 season, he led the Jayhawks to the best season in program history–a 12-1 overall record that was capped off with a 24-21 Orange Bowl win over the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels is the signal-caller of the present in Lawrence and he’s already established himself as one of the nation’s best at his position this season. The dynamic dual-threat quarterback is one of the most electrifying players in all of college football and he’s got the stats to back it up.

Daniels has shredded opposing defenses to the tune of 320 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground. As a passer, he’s completed 71 percent of his passes for 890 yards through the air, while tossing in 11 touchdowns and just one interception. Clearly, Daniels is the straw that stirs the drink for the Jayhawks and this team will go as far as he can take them.
Kansas faces off against Iowa State on Saturday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 PM EST. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
