What are KU Jayhawks getting in 4-star power forward Zuby Ejiofor?
Zuby Ejiofor is a 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward out of Garland (Texas) High that is committed to the KU Jayhawks. Ejiofor is ranked as the No. 38 in the Class of 2022. He chose Kansas over Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Houston, and Oklahoma.
What makes Zuby Ejiofor so good?
Agility
At 6-9, high school big men can’t run fast or slide their feet quickly on defense. Truthfully, most play slow and methodical. However, Zuby Ejiofor is quick and agile on his feet. He created double teams in the Texas Hoops GASO Tournament, sprinted back on defense for blocks, and even led fast breaks with the ball in his hands.
Power Finisher
When Zuby Ejiofor dunks, he is not doing so with finesse or cuteness. He is going for a dunk to demoralize a defender. Whether with one or two hands Ejiofor is trying to dunk as hard as possible. Since he uses so much power, he can dunk on multiple defenders in the low post. Ejiofor draws a lot of fouls and many of the fouls result in and ones.

Defensive Disrupter
Zuby Ejiofor has a knack for getting blocks and deflections on defenders. Since he is undersized at the prominent man position, he makes up for it with quick hands that swipe for any loose balls and lay-up attempts around the rim. Coach Bill Self can play Ejiofor at the power forward or the center position because he is an active defender.
NBA Comparison
Marquese Chriss is an NBA pro out of Washington who last played with the Golden State Warriors. Ejiofor and Chriss have similar playing styles because they are both defensive big men who score mostly on drop-off passes for hard dunks. Both bigs are known for hard blocks in the low post that embarrasses the opponent’s shot attempts.
