Kansas State EDGE Jevon Banks enters NCAA transfer portal
Kansas State EDGE Jevon Banks has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He started his career at Mississippi State before arriving at K-State in 2023.
Banks appeared in nine games for the Wildcats this past season, totaling nine tackles and 2.0 sacks during that time. That came after his biggest year at Mississippi State in which he had 17 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss across 10 appearances for the Bulldogs.
Jevon Banks played high school football at Olive Branch (Miss.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 516 overall player from the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Kansas State is preparing to undergo some major changes in 2024 after some notable transfer losses and coaching staff changes. Quarterback Will Howard was the biggest player departure as he transferred to Ohio State, paving the way for Avery Johnson to succeed him as K-State’s starting quarterback this coming season.

When he takes the reins, Johnson will have a new voice calling the plays. Collin Klein is off to College Station to serve as Texas A&M’s offensive coordinator and K-State promoted Conor Riley to OC as his replacement. In addition, the Wildcats brought Matt Wells aboard as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Those new faces are going to be major storylines for the Wildcats this year in what On3’s Andy Staples said could be the “most fun” conference in 2024.
“UCF could be big this year. Now, UCF was new to the Big 12 last year. The team I think probably has the best chance to win it is new to the Big 12 this year. So the Pac-12 disintegrates. Oregon and Washington go to the Big Ten. What happens to everybody else? Well, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Colorado. Colorado was actually the first to make the Big 12 move, and then everybody followed. But I think Utah walks into the Big 12 as one of the best teams in the Big 12,” Staples said. “I think Utah and Kansas State are probably the two teams that we should be looking at going into the Big 12 this season.”
