Kansas State WR Tre Spivey plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He was an honorable mention for the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year award.

Spivey spent two years at K-State, taking a redshirt as a freshman in 2023 after playing in just two games. This season, he totaled 14 receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown across 12 appearances.

Spivey played high school football at Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 487 overall player from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Spivey also shared a message on social media about his intention to transfer. He thanked the Kansas State fan base and coaching staff for his two years in Manhattan before declaring his plan to enter the portal.

“First and foremost, I want to thank the Lord for everything he has made possible in my life,” Spivey wrote. “To the fans, your unwavering support over these past two seasons has meant the world to me. Representing Kansas State has been an honor I will carry with me forever. I want to give special thanks to Coach Tru, Coach Klieman, and Coach Middleton for believing in me, pushing me, and guiding me both on and off the field.

“After much prayer and consideration, I have decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal with 3 years left. Thank you for everything. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.
