Georgia Southern quarterback Beau Allen has committed to Kentucky, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. He announced his decision via social media on Monday night.

Allen isn’t a stranger to the Wildcats. Allen signed with Kentucky in the 2020 cycle, but after spending two seasons in Lexington as a backup, transferred to FCS Tarleton State, where he threw for 2,836 yards and 23 touchdowns.

After the breakout campaign, Allen entered the transfer portal again and landed at Georgia Southern. However, Allen was unable to receive a waiver since he used up his one-time free transfer and was forced to sit out the entire year.

While Allen may not be a standout for the ‘Cats, he adds much-needed depth to Kentucky’s QB room. The Wildcats have almost no depth at the position after Kaiya Sheron and Destin Wade each entered the transfer portal in the last week.

Worse, former Iowa transfer Deuce Hogan also announced his intentions to head into the portal before deleting his post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Now, Allen will provide essential relief.

Allen played high school football at Lexington Catholic (KY), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 463 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
