Everybody knows how good of an athlete Chad Johnson was. Other times known as Ochocinco, the former Cincinnati Bengal was one of the great modern wide receivers in the game. He has since retired and now has the opportunity to see his own kids excel in different activities.

Johnson’s daughter, Cha’iel “Moca” Johnson, committed to Kentucky on Tuesday to run track. According to her Twitter bio, she is a three-time state champion in the 800 meters in the state of Florida. Now, she will be a Wildcat and be competing in the SEC.

A hype video was posted by Chad Johnson, congratulating his daughter. Every athlete deserves a commitment edit in their life and Johnson made sure to show off the accomplishments of Cha’iel.

You can check out the full tweet from Johnson here.

The Johnson family did take a recruiting trip to Lexington recently. Some visit photos were posted, with Johnson wearing her future track uniform. Of course, Dad had to get in at least one of them as well, wearing some UK gear of his own.

Based on Johnson’s other visits, she was bound to run track in the SEC. LSU and Tennessee also received visits, with both of those coming during football season. However, Kentucky wound up on the winning end.

You can bet there will be a pretty good ambassador of Kentucky track in the near future.

Cha’iel “Moca” Johnson heading to Kentucky

Johnson is heading to Kentucky, hoping to make an impact on the outdoor track and field team, lead by Lonnie Greene. She is heading to a program where there was success during the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

One Wildcat medaled, with Jordan Turner earning a bronze medal in the long jump. There were not any accomplishments brought back to Lexington on the track but Johnson will be looking to change that in the near future.

Johnson runs in the 800 meters, recently having a personal record of 2:07.83. She will have to improve the score a little bit heading into the college game. LSU’s Michaela Rose won the gold medal this past season, recording a 1:59.83. Rose was the lone SEC competitor to place inside of the top nine.

By the time the season ramps back up in December, Johnson will be on campus competing. A familiar face from the NFL should be there to support too.
