Class of 2024 RB Tovani Mizell commits to Kentucky

Class of 2024 running back Tovani Mizell of Fort Lauderdale (FL) Western High announced his commitment to Kentucky Wednesday morning.

The 6-foot-1, 212 pounder was previously committed to Georgia.

Mizell on why he chose Kentucky

“What ultimately led to my decision was I have a great relationship with the coaches & they let me know that I was a high priority. The staff made me & my family feel really welcome on my OV.”

“I have a really good relationship with Coach Boulware & Coach Coen. While on my visit I was able to develop a bond with Coach Marrow & Coach Stoops. They said I’m a big SEC style back with speed, great hands and the ability to break tackles.”

“They run a Pro-Style Offense, so they said they plan on using me in many different ways in the run game as well as the  passing game.”

Highlights of visit to Lexington 

“I had a great time in Lexington. The overall highlight was that I got to spend my Birthday & Father’s Day with my family, new team & coaches!! They showed mad love!!”

“The campus was really nice but what stood out was that everything was in one central location. The stadium, practice fields, indoor facility, locker rooms, coaches offices & training room were all onsite.”

Mizell ranks as the No. 490 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 38 running back  and the No. 16 player in the state of Maryland.

The Florida running back joins coach Mark Stoops and the Wildcats’ top 60 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star quarterback Cutter Boley and others.

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
