Clemson WR transfer Troy Stellato signs with Kentucky
Clemson wide receiver Troy Stellato has signed with Kentucky out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Stellato spent the last three years contributing for the Tigers, to varying degrees. His most productive season came as a sophomore in 2023.
In total, Troy Stellato has logged 66 catches for 616 yards and two touchdowns. He’s also rushed one time for 11 yards.
Stellato first emerged on the scene as a freshman in 2022. He caught just two passes for 15 yards, making a limited contribution. His role would increase significantly the following year.
As a sophomore in 2023, Troy Stellato caught 39 passes for 337 yards and a touchdown. His average per reception remained under 10 yards, though that would change during his junior season.
As a junior in 2024, he caught 25 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown. His average per catch went up to 10.6 yards, showing a little bit more big play ability. Kentucky will be hoping to continue expanding that figure.

Prior to enrolling at Clemson, Troy Stellato was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 294 overall player in the country in the 2021 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 43 receiver in the class and the No. 41 overall player in the state of Florida, hailing from Fort Lauderdale (FL) Cardinal Gibbons.
Kentucky loses Gavin Wimsatt to Jacksonville State
Kentucky transfer quarterback Gavin Wimsatt committed to Jacksonville State on Sunday, according to his Instagram page. The former Wildcats quarterback committed to the Gamecocks, making it the third school of his career. The Gamecocks were C-USA Champions last year, completing a 9-5 overall season with a 30-27 loss against Ohio in the Cure Bowl.
Wimsatt began his career at Rutgers before transferring to play for his home state school for one season. He played there for three seasons and compiled 2,537 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, a 47.8% completion percentage, 628 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.
At Kentucky, he was used mainly in run packages and for most of the season, the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart behind Brock Vandagriff. His best game came in Week 14 vs. Louisville, where he completed 4 of 9 passes for 125 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He had 183 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground this season as well.
