Drake, Lil Durk bring out Kentucky players at Rupp Arena concert
Kentucky had quite the weekend to end the regular season. On Saturday, the Wildcats went to Knoxville and knocked off No. 4 Tennessee. Then, a day later, a trio of Wildcats were special guests at the latest concert for Drake on his current tour.
Drake performed at Rupp Arena in Lexington on Sunday on the next stop of his ‘Big As The What?’ Tour. As part of the show, the performing artists brought out three current Wildcats with them. Rob Dillingham joined Drake on stage while DJ Wagner and Kareem Watkins also walked out with Lil Durk.
Drake is a personal friend of John Calipari, which makes it no surprise that some of his players would be in attendance and part of the act.
Dillingham and Wagner are impactful players for Kentucky while Watkins, who is related to Wagner, is a senior.
Dillingham comes off the bench for the Wildcats as their second-leading scorer at 15 points to go with 3.8 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 48.2% from the field and 44.2% from three. Meanwhile, Wagner is the team’s starting point guard with averages of 10.3 points and 3.3 assists.
Just over 24 hours prior to the show, Kentucky went to Rocky Top and closed their season with arguably their most impressive victory. They won 85-81 over the Volunteers to move to 23-8 overall and secure the No. 2 seed in the SEC with a 13-5 mark.
The Wildcats will now enter the SEC Tournament in Nashville on Friday with a chance to win another conference title. Then, depending on how that trip to Music City goes, they are trending to be somewhere around a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament come Selection Sunday.
Some of these players at Kentucky this season have become genuine rockstars to the fanbase. That’s why it was only right for them to take the stage and soak it in before they tip off in the postseason later this week.

Justin Edwards, Stacey Sheppard share hug following Kentucky’s win against Tennessee
Kentucky got the win of its season on Saturday by going to Rocky Top and taking down the Tennessee Volunteers.
Justin Edwards played a huge role by finishing with 16 points, making six of his 10 shot attempts. Four of those were from the three-point line as he helped Kentucky get off to a blazing start in the first half.
While he was happy with the performance, Stacey Sheppard might have been even more excited. Right as Edwards was about to begin speaking with media members postgame, Sheppard came up and gave him a hug. She then pounded his chest twice before letting out a “Woo!” before allowing him to conduct his interview.
Struggles have certainly been there this season for Edwards. Now, with it all now paying off on the court, Sheppard could not be more excited for him.
“Just with the season I’m having, she’s been one of the ones that’s really been rooting for me,” Edwards said. “She’s been telling me ‘Just stay the course’ and stuff. So, that’s why she’s so hyped for me.”
