Cross Plains (Tenn.) East Robertson four-star linebacker Elijah Groves has committed to the Kentucky Wildcats. He announced the news on Twitter.

Groves chose Kentucky over NC State and Purdue.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder is the No. 352 overall prospect and No. 34 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in Tennessee.

Groves really saw his recruitment blow up over the spring. Kentucky was one of several schools to extend him an offer as the Wildcats extended theirs on May 2. Kentucky and NC State followed up with offers to him shortly afterwards.

In June he took official visits to all three schools. Purdue was the first to host him on June 2 before he visited Kentucky on June 8 and NC State on June 23.

Groves is also a standout at East Robertson in both basketball and track.

Elijah Groves currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
