Former Oakland star Jack Gohlke trolls Kentucky in 2025 NCAA Tournament bracket reveal

For the second year in a row, Jack Gohlke has Kentucky‘s season ending in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Last year’s March Madness superstar revealed he’s picking Troy over the Wildcats ahead of this week’s action.
If Gohlke’s pick comes true, Kentucky will have lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons. Of course, Gohlke was the catalyst for the Wildcats’ opening game exit last season. He scored 32 points and made 10 3-pointers against the Wildcats in what would be John Calipari’s final game coaching the program.
Despite Oakland losing its next game in the tournament, Gohlke cashed in on his star-making performance against the Wildcats. He released an apparel line, as well as securing multiple NIL deals on his way out of college.
Before the Oakland incident, Kentucky suffered what at the time felt like an uprecedented defeat to a No. 15-seeded St. Peter’s team in 2022 during the first round. Kentucky was able to avoid the upset in the first round the following season, but wasn’t able to get past the second round.
Kentucky’s postseason woes have been at the forefront of March Madness for the last three seasons. Moreover, the Wildcats haven’t been a factor in the NCAA Tournament since the 2018-19 season having missed out on a potential No. 1 or 2 seed in 2020 after the pandemic shut down the tournament.

They had a historically low year in 2021 finishing with a 9-16 record, but have been relevant in the regular season ever since. Despite appearing in the Top 10 of the AP poll in each of the last four seasons, Kentucky only have one NCAA Tournament win to show for its. Under first year head coach Mark Pope, Kentucky has the opportunity to erase its postseason reputation with a run in the tournament this season.
All this for Gohlke to say the Wildcats are one-and-done in March Madness. Again. Luckily for the Wildcats, neither St. Peter’s, nor the Golden Grizzlies are among the 68 teams who made the NCAA Tournament field this season. And Gohlke isn’t around to haunt them from beyond the 3-point line, either, as he’s a member of the Motor City Cruise, the NBA G League affliliate of the Detroit Pistons.
Of course, this is all in good fun for Gohlke to poke fun at BBN before the Wildcats take center stage in Milwaukee on Thursday night against Troy. Gohlke also has Drake making a run to the Sweet 16, with Houston winning the whole thing. He doesn’t have Troy making it past the second round, either. The Wildcats and Trojans will tip-off on March 30 at 7:10 p.m. ET and will air live on CBS.
