Former Georgia linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson has committed to Kentucky out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, via his Instagram.

Dumas-Johnson spent three seasons with the Bulldogs, tallying 38 appearances and 24 starts. In the 2023 campaign, Dumas-Johnson started in all nine games he appeared in before suffering a season-ending arm injury. He recorded 34 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles for loss and three passes defended.

Dumas-Johnson was a finalist for the Butkus Award in 2022 and considered one of the favorites to potentially win it in 2023, being named to numerous All-American teams in the preseason. He exploded for 70 tackles, four sacks and nine tackles for loss in 2022.

In his freshman season, Dumas-Johnson was still a key contributor, appearing in 14 of Georgia’s 15 contests. Dumas-Johnson collected 22 tackles, two sacks and an interception as a freshman.

As a recruit, he was the No. 240 overall prospect in the 2021 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the nation’s No. 28 linebacker and the No. 11 recruit in Maryland.

Johnson was the No. 1 linebacker available in the transfer portal, per On3’s transfer portal player rankings. He was also heavily recruited by Auburn after announcing his decision to transfer.
