Monday was a great day for Kentucky head coach John Calipari.

Camden (N.J.) five-star combo guard DJ Wagner announced his commitment to the school, topping off a class that will finish No. 1 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Michigan State, Calipari posted a video on social media about the game. But it also indirectly acknowledged the commitment and the class.

Since Wagner and Rahway (N.J.) Camden five-star center Aaron Bradshaw have not yet signed with the school, Calipari or Kentucky can’t talk about them on the record.

But Calipari wore a t-shirt for the video that indirectly referenced the two, along with the other three commits in the class: Philadelphia Imhotep Institute five-star small forward Justin Edwards, Charlotte (N.C.) Donda Academy five-star combo guard Robert Dillingham and London (Ky.) North Laurel four-star combo guard Reed Sheppard.

The shirt lists all five players by their first name.

Bradshaw, Dillingham, Edwards and Bradshaw all rank in the top eight of the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Bradshaw, who plays in high school with Wagner, is the No. 1 player in the 2023 On3 ranking.

“When looking at the overall landscape of the class, Bradshaw seemed to have the most attainable NBA upside,” On3’s Jamie Shaw said. “There will certainly need to be some continued growth, but there were not many questions about how his game translates moving forward.”
