Karl-Anthony Towns was a key piece on one of John Calipari’s best Kentucky teams. Now, over the weekend, the duo reunited in the bluegrass for quite the comedic moment.

At a wedding of a member of the program and university, Towns and Calipari were both in attendance. Then, unbeknownst to Cal, his wife, Ellen, invited Towns and his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, to stay at their home. That led to quite the wake-up call for the Wildcat’s coach and caused him to do a second number on his hair as Towns noted.

The social media banter between the new ‘roommates’ continued throughout the day. That included a witty comeback from Towns about how he was utilized in college after the Hall of Famer found him laid out in his chair.

Towns played for Calipari in Lexington for one season in 2014-2015. He averaged 10.3 points on 56.6% shooting from the field while grabbing 6.7 rebounds and blocking 2.3 shots. That led UK to one of their most famous and successful campaigns, under Cal or not, as they eventually finished the year 38-1. While they lost in the Final Four, Towns earned the right to become the No. 1 pick in the following summer’s NBA Draft.

Towns wasn’t Calipari’s only visitor this past week either. He already hosted Lil Wayne in his office earlier this week ahead of a concert. Then, later on Sunday, Cal also took a visit from former player Brandon Boston Jr. as well.

Some things can startle all of us first thing in the morning if we’re not careful. However, while he is known to have his players over at his home quite often, it’s pretty amusing to imagine Calipari’s reaction this a.m. when the seven-foot, 250-pound Towns came thundering downstairs for breakfast.

It’s the second consecutive Kentucky Derby attended by Bacot. He has an NIL deal with Town & Country Farms, a breeding and horse racing farm located in Georgetown, Kentucky.
