Keidron Smith has made his transfer portal decision. The former Ole Miss cornerback is heading to Lexington.

Smith announced Friday he’s transferring to Kentucky next season. He tweeted pictures of himself in a Kentucky uniform, in which he’ll spend the final year of his college career.

“Something about that Kentucky Blue,” he tweeted.

Smith is coming off two solid seasons for the Rebels in 2020 and 2021. He had 129 total tackles, two forced fumbles and three interceptions over that time to help lead the Ole Miss defense. For his efforts, he appeared on the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List.

Smith arrived in Oxford as a three-star recruit and a top-125 cornerback recruit from the Class of 2018, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. After entering the portal, Smith became the No. 79 cornerback transfer in the portal, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.

This is good news for the Wildcats, who have had a busy week with the portal after spring practice. Four players entered the portal after spring ball ended, including Clevan Thomas, who went into the portal on Friday.

Thomas began his collegiate career in 2017, and he has 16 receptions for 169 yards and one touchdown in his four years of action on the field.

Unfortunately for Thomas, his 2021 season ended after he suffered a torn ACL during spring ball. He did not return during the year, and is now looking for a fresh start as he enters the transfer portal and leaves Kentucky.

Thomas is a former three-star receiver in the 2017 class out of Florida, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.

Now, Thomas enters the transfer portal and joins a few other talented receivers that are still looking for new homes.
