Kentucky is currently 21-4 overall and 10-2 against SEC opponents. The Wildcats have six games remaining on their regular season schedule, with a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament very much in play. But in order to do that, Kentucky will need to take care of business over the remainder of the regular season. KenPom has predicted the outcome of each of Kentucky’s next five games, and expects the Wildcats to see a lot of success over the final stretch of the season.

Kentucky’s next five games, according to KenPom

Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Tennessee: Kentucky 71 – Tennessee 70 (52% win probability)

Saturday, Feb. 19 vs. Alabama: Kentucky 83 – Alabama 73 (83% win probability)

Wednesday, Feb. 23 vs. LSU: Kentucky 73 – LSU 63 (81% win probability)

Saturday, Feb. 26 at Arkansas: Kentucky 76 – Arkansas 71 (69% win probability)

Tuesday, March 1 vs. Ole Miss: Kentucky 78 – Ole Miss 60 (95% win probability)

Kentucky is looking to extend a winning streak on Tuesday

Kentucky has won six consecutive games. Most recently, the Wildcats took care of business against Florida on Saturday, winning 78-57. Overall, Kentucky has won ten of its last 11 games, with the only loss coming in the middle of that stretch against Auburn, who was ranked No. 2 at the time.

If KenPom has correctly predicted Kentucky’s next five games, the Wildcats would have serious momentum heading into postseason play. KenPom also has the Wildcats beating Florida to wrap up the regular season on March 5. If those predictions hold true, Kentucky would enter the SEC Tournament with a 27-4 overall record, including a 16-2 mark against SEC opponents. Kentucky’s winning streak would sit at 12 games, and that would be serious momentum heading into the postseason.

Kentucky entered the week ranked No. 4 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll. The Wildcats sit behind top ranked Gonzaga, as well as Auburn and Arizona.

A big part of Kentucky’s future success is the health of freshman point guard TyTy Washington. Washington, Kentucky’s second-leading scorer, is averaging just under 30 minutes per game, posting a line of 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists. But against Florida, Washington suffered an ankle injury. Despite the initial scare, the injury does not appear to be overly serious or concerning long term.

“I spoke with a source close to that program that said they think it’s just an ankle. They don’t think it’s all that serious,” college basketball insider Rob Dauster said. “They think it’s kind of a day-to-day thing. Status is still TBD moving forward since it’s so recent. It looked a lot worse than what I think it actually is. I think they got a little bit lucky on that one.”
