Kentucky assistant Vince Marrow takes issues with SEC Network QB rankings
SEC Network analyst Jordan Rodgers dropped his top five SEC quarterback rankings on Thursday, but Kentucky quarterback Will Levis missed the cut. That led to a response from a Wildcats assistant.
Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow retweeted the rankings and disagreed with Levis’ omission. He kept his thoughts short and sweet, using three letters to sum up his feelings.
“LOL,” he tweeted.
Rodgers’ listed was led by Alabama quarterback Bryce Young at No. 1, which isn’t much of a surprise considering he’s coming off a Heisman Trophy season in 2021. South Carolina transfer Spencer Rattler came in right behind him at No. 2, followed by Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker at No. 3, Arkansas’ KJ Jefferson at No. 4 and Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers at No. 5.
Last year, Levis put together the best numbers of his three-year career, completing 66% of his passes for 2,826 yards and 24 touchdowns. He helped the Wildcats to a 10-3 record and a Citrus Bowl victory over Iowa.

Will Levis discusses early connections with Kentucky wide receivers
Wan’Dale Robinson is a New York Giant, Josh Ali is no longer around to bail you out, and the Kentucky wide receiving room is nearly unrecognizable from one year ago. Fans have heard the rumblings going on with receivers like Dane Key, Dekel Crowdus and Tayvion Robinson, but what about the ones they haven’t heard of?
Well, Kentucky quarterback Will Levis is excited about the room from top to bottom.
“The first practice I threw a nice little toe ball to Barion Brown on team run, which was nice. He’s got really good speed and it’s good to see his ball skills,” Levis said. “He needs to be a little more consistent. I know he can make the catches, but I think just getting the work with him and making sure that he just has a feel for how I throw the ball and just gets more comfortable with that.
“But, I mean, all types of guys have made flashes. Chauncey Magwood made a really good play on a route that we hadn’t thrown yet all season. It was good to see, he’s got a good feel for the timing when to go up for a ball and go high point it. DeMarcus [Harris] has got a really good feel for a lot of single cut routes back side, and I feel like my timing with him and my chemistry with him has gotten really, really good. But there’s been a lot of good guys that have made some good plays.”
