Fawley was a redshirt freshman who played sparingly for the Wildcats in his lone season of action in 2023-24.

He appeared in 10 games, seeing 18 total at-bats. Fawley hit .222, recording four hits and three runs, to go along with two home runs and a double. He had five RBI and struck out seven times while walking once.

Austin Fawley did have a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, showing a nice defensive glove.

The redshirt freshman’s contributions were welcome in a season that Kentucky utilized all the help it could get en route to the College World Series for the first time ever. The Wildcats even won a game in Omaha, making it a tremendous season.

Now Fawley will look to head to a program where he can make an even bigger impact, potentially taking some of that valuable postseason knowledge with him.

It’s been an active transfer portal season and Austin Fawley is far from the only player that has hit the portal looking for a new home.

Texas A&M star Jace Laviolette enters portal

One of the top players in college baseball has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, as Texas A&M outfielder Jace Laviolette is seeing where else he might play. Laviolette will be draft eligible after the 2025 season.

A long lefty with power, Laviolette played mostly outfield for the Aggies but also has ability at first base and pitched as a high schooler. But his biggest plus is his bat.

In 2024, Laviolette finished No. 6 nationally in total home runs, blasting 29 bombs from the top half of the Texas A&M lineup. In 68 games — all starts — Laviolette record 87 runs scored, 78 RBI, 71 combined walks and hit by pitch, 16 doubles and posted a .305 batting average.

Laviolette enters the portal after Texas A&M head coach Jim Schlossnagle, who recruited and signed Laviolette, left to take the head coaching gig at rival Texas.

On3’s Andrew Graham also contributed to this report.
