Kentucky DB Avery Stuart announces plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal
Kentucky DB Avery Stuart announced that he will be entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Stuart did so with a post on social media on Tuesday.
“Thank you BBN,” Stuart captioned the post with an emoji of a blue heart.
“I will be entering the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining,” wrote Stuart. “First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to place the game I love at the collegiate level. I am also grateful to my coach and the entire coaching staff for their unwavering support and for helping me grow both as a player and as a person. Their dedication to my development has meant more to me than words can express. To my teammates, the relations and memories we’ve built will last a lifetime and I am forever grateful for each of you. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. I am looking forward to exploring new opportunities as I continue my college football journey.”
Stuart spent the past two seasons with the Wildcats. He redshirted his first year in Lexington last year after appearing in one game and then appeared in just two more this fall.
In total, Stuart recorded just one statistic with a tackle during the one game last season.
Stuart, a Montgomery, Alabama native, played high school football at Alabama Christian Academy. He was the No. 335 overall recruit there as a four-star prospect in the 2023 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as a Top-30 safety in the class and the No. 2 player out of the state.
Stuart is the second transfer loss of the day for Kentucky. Moments after his announcement, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that DL Keeshawn Silver will also be entering the portal upon its opening next week.

Kentucky could be losing several players in the portal this offseason after finishing this season at 4-8. That starts with these pair of defenders today starting with Stuart.
