Kentucky lands former Texas A&M WR Raymond Cottrell
Former Texas A&M wide receiver Raymond Cottrell has committed to Kentucky. Cottrell announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Nov. 12.
Cottrell only spent one season at Texas A&M, appearing in three games. His lone reception of the season was a touchdown in the Aggies’ win over UL Monroe in Week 3.
Cottrell played high school football at Milton (FL), where he was rated as a four-star prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also ranked as the No. 230 overall player and No. 33 wide receiver.
More than two dozen schools contacted Cottrell after he entered the transfer portal. Kentucky was the first to receive an official visit. When Cottrell opted to enter the portal, he related this statement:
“Thank You God he’s been so good to me. I couldn’t do anything without him.. as of now I am in the portal with 3 years of eligibility left,” Cottrell wrote. “Thank you to everyone who was with me on my journey.”
