Kentucky lands Georgia QB Brock Vandagriff from transfer portal
Georgia backup Brock Vandagriff was one of many quarterbacks who hit the transfer portal shortly after it opened. Now, he has a new home.
The former Georgia Bulldog is staying inside the SEC and has committed to Kentucky for the 2024 season, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.
“I really like what they do on offense and believe it will get me ready for the next level, which has always been the goal,” Vandagriff said to Simmons. “I really enjoyed talking ball with Coach [Liam] Coen and Coach [Mark] Stoops.”
Vandagriff is fired up to get rolling in Lexington under Stoops and Coen.
“I’m just really excited to go in there and get to work. Ready to meet my new teammates and learn this offense and be ready to roll this spring!”
Across three seasons in Athens, Vandagriff appeared in over 10 games as a reserve QB for the Bulldogs. He served as the backup to Carson Beck in 2023.
Vandagriff played high school football at Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian, where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 22 overall recruit and No. 4 QB in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
